COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT

PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE

Hickman County, Tennessee will hold a public meeting at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2017, in the Hickman County Emergency Operation Center located at 550 Highway 100, Centerville, Tennessee to discuss the Community Block Grant (CDBG) Program administered by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.  The purpose of this meeting is to explain the guidelines of the program and to solicit input from area residents regarding potential uses of CDBG funds.  CDBG funds can be used for water line extensions, water system improvements, sewer line extensions, sewer system improvements, housing rehabilitation, and other community development projects such as fire protection, emergency management facilities, drainage, rural health departments, etc.

All residents or entities with projects are encouraged to attend this meeting or mail suggestions to County Mayor Shaun Lawson, Hickman County Administration Building, 114 North Central Avenue, Ste. 204, Centerville, TN 37033. Hickman County does not discriminate. The location of the meeting is accessible to persons with disabilities. LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for tree trimming and removal to be completed for the Town of Centerville, Tennessee, will be received at 102 E. Swan Street, Centerville, Tennessee  37033 until 11:00 A.M (CST) October 31, 2017 and at which time the bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud.  Any bid received after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids will be returned to the bidder unopened.  Sealed bids submitted prior to the bid opening should be sent to Town of Centerville, Attn: Mayor Gary Jacobs, 102 E. The project includes trimming and removal of trees within an avigation easement owned by the Town of Centerville for maintaining an aircraft approach surface to the north end of the Centerville Municipal Airport’s runway.  Interested bidders should contact the Mayor’s office for additional information on location and amount of trimming and removal to be completed.  All work shall be in accordance with the applicable sections of TDOT’s Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, latest edition, Section 201 - Clearing and Grubbing.  The successful bidder must be insured and bonded and must provide proof prior to entering into a contract with the Town of Centerville.
